Last year, I chose Accomplish as my word of the year. While I did meet some of my goals with that word in mind, I fear that I set out to accomplish too much, resulting in a bit of an overwhelmed, stretched thin me. So with that in mind, I’ve picked this year’s word.
Why?
Too much clutter. I need to learn to ‘just say no’. I take on too much. And that results in too many undone projects, not enough time enjoying what I do, rushing vs enjoying, and not being there when I am there.
So its time to simplify.
I am *pretty* good at simplifying my home -i’ve never been a clutterbug- but there are always those hot spots.
With this word in mind, I hope to declutter those.
I also hope to de-clutter my life, so I can get rid of unnecessary stress. That stress I bring on myself.
Well said, no?
Part of simplifying means living life with more of what we already have – be it re-using, re-purposing, or growing your own. And also buying less. That last part? Admittedly, that will be a challenge for me. But its one I want to try this year*. Last year, Meredith did a no-spend 2011, and by golly, she really freakin’ did it. I am not going that far, but I am going to come up with some huge challenge to make it fun and less torture. We shall see.
Why simplify?
Doesn’t this sound grand?
Why not?

Ok, so I love that you chose this word. I almost did too. In my mind it’s my “other” word. haha.
I think it’s great and will be good for you. You are always SO busy, I’ve never understood how you could do it all. Anxious to see you progress, friend! xoxo

my words this year are flail and fail.
that’s right.
i am an inspiration.
ha =)
I think simple is a good one! I’m not doing a word this year because my last two really gave me license to be true to who I am, so I’m just sticking with those darn it!
