I admire my kids teachers. I really do.
And its not because I once was one of them.
The teachers that my kids have actually inspire my kids to want to learn. The things that my kids come home and tell me just amaze the pants off of me on a daily basis!
So when Teacher Appreciation Week rolls around (or, em, Staff Appreciation, as we call it in our school), I look at it as the perfect opportunity to express our family’s thanks to these wonderful people!!
Some time ago (way before I was president of the PTA), some person came up with the brilliant idea to provide all the staff with a survey of their favorite things: drink, flowers, places to eat, shop, pamper themselves, etc. And it even includes things that they’d rather not get. And the top 3 items that appear on those lists? 1- things with apples, 2-lotions and candles, 3-mugs.
So with that in mind, I’ve created a board on Pinterest to help you out. However, I do have to share the #1 idea that I found because its brilliant and it made me laugh. And because everyone (and I mean everyone) loves a gift card.
(she has ones for Target and Starbucks, as well, that are equally funny)
Other great gift ideas: personalized stationary | coffee cuffs or mason jar wraps | offering to take the teacher’s recess duty | offer to bring the teacher in lunch for the day | offer to clean the teacher’s classroom | bring the teacher in some of her favorite flowers-picked from your yard, perhaps- and a handmade card from your child
